QCMF 2015

On Friday 15 August the St Joachim’s School Choir proudly participated the Queensland Catholic Schools and Colleges Music Festival (QCMF). QCMF is the premier event on Queensland’s Catholic Schools and Colleges annual music and arts calendar and is coordinated by Villanova College at Coorparoo. The QCMF is a celebration of all things musical covering a diverse range of genres within the classical and contemporary styles.  Performers range from six to eighteen years of age and participate in brass, wind, string, percussion, jazz and choral ensembles including a magnificent combination of these in choirs, orchestras and a variety of bands.

QCMF’s sole purpose is to provide young performers with an opportunity to showcase their talent within an environment where the quality of their respective performances is adjudicated on the basis of musical expression and the age, maturity, experience and passion of performers. While adjudicators and patrons alike appreciate musical excellence, the true gift of the festival is the opportunity it affords young performers to be the best they can be with the knowledge that their performances are appreciated and adjudicated accordingly.

Congratulations to all choir members and music teacher, Miss Alisen McLeod. All did a fine job representing our wonderful school.
