Outback Fair 2016

When St Joachim's parent community voted to implement a voluntary annual fundraising levy this year, a fete was still considered a very important community building venture. And so the number one priority in planning this year's Outback Fair is an awesome family fun day!

On Sunday June 5 our school grounds, and a section of Emma St, will be transformed into a u-beaut colourful bonanza of fun, featuring amusement rides, live reptile show, animal farm, show bags, face painting, crazy hair, temporary tattoos, the Balloon Dude, pluck-a-duck, as well as performances by our talented classes, Superstars Dance Academy, the Villanova Irish Ensemble and live band Dose.

Grab a bargain at the cake, sweets, jams and relishes stalls, and amid the huge range of plants and garden ornaments at the plant stall, handmade toys, gifts, kids clothes and home decor at the Handmade Love stall, bargain books at Banjo's Books and secondhand children's items over at the Kids' Trading Post.

There'll be plenty to eat - scones and tea at Billy's Tea House; coffee, cakes and sandwiches at Cobber's Coffee Shop; hamburgers at the Aussie BBQ; yiros and honey puffs at the Greek Grill; hot chips, cold drinks, and later relax with a beer or wine at the Billabong Bar.

Grab a chance to win $1500 in cash, or more than 70 prizes in our monster multi-draw raffle - including 2 return flights on Virgin Australia's domestic network - or take your chances on the chocolate wheel. For a bit of fun, we're holding a Hay Bale Lotto at the end of the day. Every hay bale auctioned contains a mystery prize!

Overwhelming support from our generous sponsors means prices have been kept as affordable as possible, but any funds raised will be used by the  St Joachim's P&F Association to equip the new Arts Learning Centre, put the finishing touches to the new admin and classroom blocks, and landscape the school grounds.

For the first time we proposed, and the P&F unanimously agreed, to direct 5% of Outback Fair profits to the benefit of others. This year, the recipients will be our long-established charity partner at MICAH Projects, the St Vincent De Paul Winter Appeal and small, multicultural school St Brendan’s Catholic Primary, Moorooka.

Come along and join us! We can't wait to see you!
